Reds Unveil New Batting Practice Cap

The Reds have swept the legs out from under Mr. Redlegs—and the rest of his body, too. The Reds’ new batting practice cap features Mr. Redlegs’ head, a throwback to one of the team’s logos from the 1950s.

The new cap is a departure from last season’s BP caps, which featured Mr. Redlegs’ entire body, merrily running with his oversized bat in hand. (Not the best form for running the bases, Mr. Redlegs.) That full-bodied version of the Mr. Redlegs logo has also appeared on the Reds’ uniform sleeves since 2007.

Reds-AllStarBaseball fans will see a lot of the Reds’ mascot this season, as the All Star Game will take place in Cincinnati, and the event’s logo features Mr. Redlegs himself.
