Tonight, Andrei Kirilenko decided to pay tribute to Brooklyn Nets fans following his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers by posting a heartfelt message over on his Instagram account. For Nets fans, it was a pretty cool gesture. For people who are interested in uniforms and jerseys, it was interesting to see that the jersey that AK47 had folded up in the accompanying Instagram photo wasn’t the regular Nets home jersey, but it was clearly an authentic Nets jersey.
For those who have been following NBA uniform news over here, the Nets have a new alternate pride uniform on the way, and we’ve already seen the shorts after they leaked on Ebay. Now, thanks to Kirilenko, we may have just gotten a sneak peek of the jersey (which will be sleeved). Friend of the site Conrad Burry posted this image of the jersey and shorts together.
At this point, this alternate uniform is probably the worst kept uniform secret in the NBA. I’d imagine that once this uniform finally gets officially unveiled, we’ll have more of a “Well what took you so long?” reaction rather than a “Wow!” reaction.
