Chelsea 2015-16 Kit Design Leaks

Chelsea 2015 Leak F

We’ve got another big-time soccer club whose kit design for next season has leaked onto the internet far before a ball is kicked for the season which the kits are intended for. A while back, we got wind of Real Madrid’s kit design for 2015-16, and now thanks to the reliable people over at Todo Sobre Camisetas (who were responsible for the first look at the USMNT’s 2014 World Cup kit), we’ve got a look at Chelsea FC’s kits for the 2015-16 campaign.

By taking a look at the image above, one thing is clear: It’s not exactly a groundbreaking design for the club, nor would you expect the Blues to stray from their simple design of, well, blue. Instead, we see the return of red and white as complimentary colors (for the first time since 2010-11 as far as the home shirt is concerned), both on the home and secondary shirts. The red & white accents can be seen on the collar and sleeve of the home shirt.

Meanwhile, the secondary shirt should bring back memories of the secondary shirt that they wore, well, just last season.

In fact, according to HistoricalKits.co.uk, this will be Chelsea’s 8th mostly-black kit since 2002. Clearly, they favor the color, and I can’t wait to see what that pattern looks like when it’s printed onto an actual shirt.

So the big question here is: Where’s the sponsor? Considering this is big-time soccer, I highly doubt that a club as big as Chelsea will be taking to the field without a sponsor (much less Samsung EDIT: Word on the twitter streets is that Turkish Airlines will be the new shirt sponsor) on their shirt, which means that once the finished product is released, it’ll still be there. But for now, it’s actually kind of pleasant to see the shirt designs in their “purest” form.

But what do you guys think of the look? Solid look for Chelsea (as usual)?
