For five “Way Back Wednesday” games throughout the season—April 29, July 1, July 22, August 12, and August 19—the San Diego Padres will wear the brown pinstripes they wore from 1985 to 1990.

This is good news to many Padres fans, some of whom have been agitating for a return to the good ol’ brown days for a long time. The announcement was received positively by fans on social media, and an online petition called “Bring Back the Brown” that has more than 1,700 signatures received a boost from the news.

The news follows closely on the heels of the Seattle Mariners’ much-applauded announcement of throwback uniforms that feature retro colors, and precedes, we can only hope, the Philadelphia Eagles’ announcement that they’re bringing back their old kelly green uniforms.
