The Frisco RoughRiders grabbed our attention earlier today when they Tweeted out a sneak peek of their new logo set.
Showing only a pair of “pince-nez” style glasses with the caption “Got Monocles?” above it (yes, they were corrected several times), the teaser suggests the new set will be paying homage to Theodore Roosevelt. The former U.S. President wore glasses very similar to the style shown in the teaser, prior to moving into the White House he was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the “Rough Riders”, a popular name for the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry during the late 19th century.
Any logo set incorporating Teddy Roosevelt gets the thumbs up from me.
The new look will be unveiled during the final week of February, Brandiose is the studio behind the design. The RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, you can see their current soon-to-be-replaced logo set here.
