The San Francisco Giants have unveiled a new fifth alternate uniform to be worn during the 2015 season.
According to a tweet from the club the all-black uniform will make it’s debut on May 2nd, which is “Metallica Day” at the ballpark.
The uniform features the Giants’ “SF” cap logo in black with an orange outline, orange piping down the front and on the sleeves. On the back of the jersey is the player number (no name) in black and orange:
There is a new patch on the sleeve, a span of the Golden Gate Bridge in orange within a half-rectangle, the GIANTS wordmark arched below.
The jersey brings to mind the black-on-black uniform the club wore in the earlier part of the century, famously (or infamously?) worn when Barry Bonds broke the single season home run record in 2001.
