It’s April 1st, so naturally, a whole bunch of brands and business are using this day to take a break from their usual self-promotion of actual things that really exist by self-promoting fake things that don’t exist. This has been going on for quite some time now, and it’s gotten to the point where i’d be shocked if there’s ever a year in the future where April Fools comes and goes with these figures saying “Eh, we’ll pass.” But for now, they’re all having fun with it, so here’s a collection of the various teams in the sports world who have gotten in on the spirit of the holiday:
Indianapolis Colts unveil white-out jerseys
What makes this hilarious is that nearly every road game for the Colts in the franchise’s history (excluding some experiments which included blue helmets in the ’50s and blue pants in the 90s) has essentially been a white-out, so if this was actually real, it’d be hilariously redundant. Even funnier is the fact that they actually put a white stripe on the helmet. What’s the point?! I wish that the jersey and pants had white stripes as well; That would’ve been the icing on the cake. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers, and this was a pretty good one by the Colts.
Buffalo Bills and Toronto Argonauts announce preseason exhibition
Even though it’s clear that the Buffalo Bills will now be staying in Buffalo in the foreseeable future, I still feel the need to let you guys know that there’s no truth to the rumor that this was scheduled to be a “Loser gets control of Toronto forever” match.
Utah Jazz unveil new “court-pants” for 2015-16 season
If you have access to a time-travelling DeLorean, then I want you to go back to 1991 or 1992 and show this image to anyone who got angry when the basketball world finally began to move away short shorts in the mid-90s. This was probably their worst fear.
Meanwhile, one clever fan didn’t seem to mind the Jazz going to the Capri-style look.
Dallas Stars shoot down rumors of new 3rd jersey
Over at SB Nation, the Dallas Stars blog known as Defending Big D had a little fun today by starting up a rumor that the Stars were going to unveil a 3rd jersey. Naturally, since this isn’t a team with the best history of 3rd jerseys, some fans began to panic and ask the Stars’ twitter account what was going on. This is what happened:
Bakersfield Condors unveil new, innovative logo
The Bakersfiled Condors shook the minor-league hockey world to its core today when they unveiled their new logo, which included an astonishing number of 5 colors, as the team proudly boasted the fact that #NobodyHasMoreColours than they did. Here’s the logo in its full glory:
Even The Hockey News had to take a moment to show their appreciation for this beautiful work of all. In all seriousness, though, the Condors will be unveiling their actual new logo tomorrow.
Orlando City goes full-Boise State and installs purple pitch
The only purple team in Major League Soccer went all the way with their embrace of the royal color by making sure that the pitch itself also donned the shade of purple.
Of course, this was also done so that the team could gain a competitive advantage, as Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath made sure to point out:
Head Coach Adrian Heath thinks it may even give his team a tactical advantage, stating, “Our players will be virtually camouflaged against the pitch making it difficult for the opposition to spot them making runs. Imagine Kaká slipping into the box unnoticed and unmarked. Lethal.”
Also, well done to Orlando City for actually acting on a promise that Sporting Kansas City officials had been talking about for a long time. Way to step up, Lions!
Cleveland Orchestra and Cincinnati Bengals follow Cleveland Browns lead in new logo unveiling
After the Cleveland Browns recently made a groundbreaking logo change, this apparently inspired the Cleveland Orchestra to do the same, as they unveiled their new look today. Here’s hoping that fans of the fine arts don’t get too confused when they take a look at the new logo in usage around the city.
Meanwhile on the southern side of Ohio, the Bengals were so inspired by their in-state rivals that they too decided to make a radical change to their logos. Brace yourself for the new Cincinnati Bengals helmet and logos!
We’re not too sure how “April Fools” will look on the uniforms, but hey; It’s their prerogative.

Those are most of the logos-related April Fools gags that we could find this year. If you guys have any more that we missed, feel free to let us know in the comments. Also, make sure to take a look at a sneak peek of a pretty big new logo that will be unveiled pretty soon. You don’t want to miss this one.
