The Washington Wizards are officially dropping their rarely used primary logo featuring a long-bearded wizard on a basketball/moon, replaced with a new version of a current alternate mark.
The announcement was made via a post on their corporate website, the new logo features their Washington Monument alternate logo now inside a roundel, the team name and stars surround it.
There are three stars in the logo, they represent Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.
Both alternate logos from 2014-15 are sticking around with this new logo, the only casualty is the bearded-wizard, which the team had been using in various colour schemes since the Bullets rebranded as the Wizards in 1997.
