Major League Baseball, Majestic, and New Era have unveiled the 2015 July 4th “Stars and Stripes” on-field uniform collection, and for the first time special jersey designs will be worn as part of the celebration.
Caps will be either red or blue, depending on the preference of the team, and feature a sublimated waving U.S. flag design in the background of the front cap panel. The team logos on the cap will also be re-coloured in red, white, and blue to match the colours of the United States.
Every jersey will be either white or grey, there are no alternate colours in the set; standard team jersey designs and piping are carried over and team wordmarks will be across the chest. Like the cap logos, the wordmark is re-coloured red, white, and blue but will also incorporate a stars pattern similar to those found on the U.S. flag.
Player names and numbers will also be re-coloured in either blue or red, font is in the individual team styles but the numbers will also incorporate that stars pattern from the jersey wordmark on the front.
Here’s a look at every team cap and jersey which will be worn, on-field, on July 4, 2015. Note that there is no special design for the Toronto Blue Jays, they will instead be wearing a custom red-and-white jersey for Canada Day on July 1.
