The Stars and Stripes Forever! Major League Baseball will be running out that theme across the uniforms of all 29 of their U.S. based clubs for games played on American Independence Day; Saturday, July 4th.
Teams will wear a sublimated waving American flag pattern on the front panel of their caps, which will be re-coloured either blue or red for the game, the team logos also re-coloured white with blue and red trim (except for Baltimore who will retain the orange in their cap logo).
Special patriotic jerseys will be worn for the first time ever across the league as part of the festivities, these jerseys will feature the team jersey wordmark or chest logo in the same layout as usual except now recoloured red/white/blue with a stars pattern within it. An American flag patch will be worn on the sleeve (No, it’s not backwards, pretend the player is a flagpole and he’s running… which way would the flag fly? There ya go.)
The lone non-American team will also play along a bit; the Toronto Blue Jays will be wearing their standard cap and road jersey for the day but with an American flag patch on one of their uniform sleeves and a Canadian flag patch on the other.
