You’ve got to give it to adidas for this: When it comes to their final season with the Michigan Wolverines under their umbrella, they’ve decided to go out with a bit of a bang. With help coming from a request from new Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, Michigan football will be wearing a throwback all-white look on the road for the entire 2015 season.
For reference, here’s the look that they’re trying to emulate: The 1974 Michigan Wolverines’ away uniform.
There’s no word on whether or not the team will be wearing a gray facemask on the road as well, but here’s hoping that they don’t. This would be one time where I’m okay with deviating from the minor details of a throwback look. Plus, since they’ll be wearing it for the entire season, technically this isn’t a throwback; Just their new away uniform for this season and this season only.
It’s going to be a little bit weird seeing the maize-and-blue not wearing maize paints on the road for the entire season, but considering all of the weird looks that Michigan’s worn during their time with adidas, this is actually a rather conservative look for them.
So, what do you think? Are you feeling the throwback look for Michigan? Or should they stick to wearing maize pants on the road?
