The Sacramento Kings will be holding several #FlashbackFriday events throughout the 2015-16 NBA season, as part of those events the basketball club will take to the court wearing their “infamous” (their words) baby blue uniforms worn originally on the road from 1985-1990.
Relocating from Kansas City to Sacramento for the 1985-86 season, the team retained the Kings logo, uniforms, and colour scheme for their first few seasons in California. This upcoming season will be the 30th anniversary of that first year.
“The 1985-86 season is one of the most memorable in Kings history. Bringing back the baby blues enables the best and loudest fans in the NBA to celebrate memories of our storied franchise history” – Kings President Chris Granger
Sacramento also announced the retro threads will be worn for their final regular season home game of the year, the last to be played at the Sleep Train Arena before they move to the brand new Golden 1 Center in 2016-17.
