The Colorado Avalanche unveiled the jerseys they will be wearing during the 2016 Stadium Series game they will host against the Detroit Red Wings on February 27th.
On the front of the jersey is the new “Co” logo from the State of Colorado flag which the Avalanche added to their home and road jerseys this season. The Avs will also wear a new alternate jersey with this logo on the front placed on a mountain peak. As was the case with the 2015 Stadium Series uniforms, there are also obnoxiously/comically large numbers are on either sleeve and also on the back, this so fans in attendance at Coors Field can identify players more easily.
There is also a nod to Denver being known as the “Mile High City” on the jersey, in white on the black collar is “5280”, the amount of feet in a mile.
Despite the game being played in Colorado the Avalanche will be wearing white, the Red Wings will be wearing red jerseys with a diagonal sash across the front. The Wings jersey design has yet to be officially revealed.
