We’ve been preparing you for the possibility of the NBA placing ads on their uniforms for quite some time. Now, it appears that the day of reckoning when it comes to ads on NBA jerseys is coming closer and closer, as the Golden State Warriors will be wearing an ad on their practice jersey for the 2015-16 season.
Now, there’s no word on whether or not the NBA is indeed moving towards putting ads on jerseys, and putting ads on practice jerseys doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll be on the game jerseys. Plenty of NFL teams have ads on their practice jerseys for years now, and we haven’t seen ads migrate onto the game jerseys yet. However, the NBA has been the league that’s been making the most noise about being the first league to make the move, so there could be fire where there’s smoke.
Additionally, the Pacers will also have an ad on their practice jerseys this season. The Warriors and Pacers have decided to lead the way when it comes to this sort of thing, and we’ll see who else follows in their footsteps. What do you guys think, though? Will more teams join them? Is this just another step towards the NBA adding advertisements to their jerseys?
