Just when we thought that the NBA was done with having grand uniform unveilings for the upcoming season (which tips off tonight, mind you), the Miami Heat decided to slip in at midnight and give us an official look at three alternate uniforms that they’ll be wearing this season. Typical Miamians being fashionably late.
Anyways, the first uniform that we have to look at here is Miami’s “Legacy” uniform. According to the Heat’s official release, this uniform is meant to be an amalgamation of all the uniform looks that the Heat have worn over the years — from their inaugural uniforms to the uniforms that they’re currently wearing.
The second uniform that we’ll be focusing on here is simple enough: The throwback uniforms from their inaugural season. They’ve thrown it back to the old days on multiple occasions, so it’s not a big shock to see these uniforms once again return to the Heat’s rotation. It’s a welcome sight, in fact!
Now, the third uniform and the one that’ll probably be the one that’s talked about the most is their Home Strong uniform. It’s meant to honor the U.S. troops, and a portion of the proceeds of all the jerseys that are sold will go to charity. That’s the nicest thing that I can say about these uniforms, so I’ll leave it at that.
Overall, the Heat will wear the Legacy jerseys on 9 occasions, the throwbacks on 7 occasions, and the Home Strong uniforms on three occasions surrounding the Veterans Day holiday. Which one of these is your favorite?
