Back when the Atlanta Hawks unveiled their new, “cutting-edge” red-gray-and-volt uniforms, they promised to switch things up a bit from time to time by mixing-and-matching their red and gray uniform elements, which meant that we’d sometimes see gray jerseys with red shorts and red jerseys with gray shorts.
Well, today the Hawks are making good on that promise for today’s road game against the Charlotte Hornets. The Hawks have announced that they’ll be wearing their red jerseys with black shorts.
As weird and unique as this look is, it’s not the first time that we’ve seen a team go with two different colors for their uniform. The Wizards recently had a short-lived gold-and-black alternate uniform, and teams such as the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies have worn throwbacks with mix-and-matched jerseys and shorts.
However, this is definitely one of the first times that we’ll see a team mix two of their current uniform elements together. It’s definitely going to be a unique look,a dn according to your taste in uniforms, this will either be a groundbreaking moment in NBA uniform history or a complete disaster. Either way, all eyes are definitely going to be on the Hawks today.
What do you think, though? Should more teams do what the Hawks are doing, or is this a mess?
