Minor league baseball’s brand new Hartford Yard Goats may have gone full wacky with their logo and nickname, but their new uniforms, just unveiled today, have a definite classic feeling. Traditional home whites and road grays feature the Yard Goats word marks, which echo type taken from the logo for the local railroad. The Sunday jersey is a two-tone blue-and-white with the cap logo featured on the chest. A solid blue BP jersey will be accompanied by a YG script cap.
The logos, which we wrote about back in July, are blue and green, an obvious wink and a nod to the still-beloved Hartford Whalers.

Of course, not everyone has been swayed by the team’s identity, so perhaps these classic uniforms will help bring the naysayers around.

This is a good effort by a team that’s sure to be a branding success, between its fun nickname, attractive brand, and as of today, solid baseball uniforms in the classic tradition of the sport.
