The Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, will commemorate their 30th season with a specialty logo. More importantly, the team will revive long-missing mascot Uncle Slam, who was last seen in the team’s logos in 2005 (at right).
Uncle Slam will be featured on the Senators’ alternate cap in 2016, and will be an important part of the team’s 30th season celebration. Quoted in an article on Penn Live, team president Kevin Kulp estimated that the Senators would wear the Uncle Slam alternate hat in about a third of their games.
The 30th season logo, designed by Brandiose, features the team’s current color scheme of red, blue, and gold, rather than the black and red associated with the Uncle Slam days. It incorporates the Senators’ logo as the H in “30th,” and features a keystone with a star, signifying Harrisburg’s role as the capital of Pennsylvania.
