They’re still cleaning up confetti in Columbus and they’re gearing up for a parade in Portland, but that hasn’t stopped Major League Soccer from getting ready for next season. Not even 24 hours after the Timbers were crowned 2015 Champions, MLS has decided to reveal the ball that our domestic soccer league will be playing with in the 2016 season.
Just like last year’s ball, there are elements of both the United States’ flag and Canada’s flag on the ball to make sure that you remember that this is one of those rare soccer leagues that involves teams from two nations.
For comparison’s sake, here’s the old ball:
As you can see, the US/Canada design elements were a lot more subtle on the 2015 ball, so if you’re the patriotic type then you’ll probably enjoy 2016’s matchball. But what do you think?
