The Minnesota Twins will have a new red alternate cap and jersey for the 2016 season.
According to a Tweet from Dave St. Peter, the president of the ballclub, the Twins will add the scarlet set as a new home alternate uniform and will not be discontinuing any jersey from 2015:
Minnesota has previously worn their red batting practice tops during a regular season game (just once in Chicago on August 1, 2014), but that wasn’t an *official alternate uniform*. The last time the club sported an actual red alternate jersey you’d have to go all the way back to 1997, and even then the “Dairy Queen” uniforms, as they were often called, were only worn twice before being mothballed.
Here’s hoping the new set is a little better received by fans and players alike.
