At a junior hockey game in London, Ontario, an on-ice official got a little fed up with the players he had to break up a fight between. First shown shoving one member of the London Lakers to the ground, then another.
Understandably annoyed that his players were getting pushed around by an official retaliation came from, yup you guessed it, the Lakers trainer, who sprinted across the ice to tackle the linesman.
Why am I talking about this on SportsLogos.Net? No, we’re not becoming one of *those* sites… Just check out the uniforms being worn by the Lakers’ opponents that night, the black-white-and-silver Kingsville Kings, a very interesting re-design of ye olde 1990’s Los Angeles Kings Gretzky-era uniform.
In case you can’t make it out in the video, the uniform features a white horizontal stripe with silver trim across the jersey (ala Montreal Canadiens), in that stripe is the italicized wordmark which once graced the Los Angeles Kings primary logo. It looks pretty great, and it might have been the direction the Ontario Reign (the Kings AHL farm club) should have considered when they went with their retro Kings inspired set.
A better look at the Kingsville uniforms below, when they were making their options public on Twitter last year:
