The Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, already have an identity based on a TV show—a March 2001 episode of The Simpsons. On August 6 of this coming season, the Isotopes will take to the field donning the identity of another TV show. They’ll wear jerseys featuring Albuquerque’s most famous resident, Saul Goodman (aka Jimmy McGill), of the TV show Better Call Saul.
The jerseys will feature the cheesy lawyer’s likeness, played by Bob Odenkirk, set against a backdrop of New Mexico’s big sky, which is prominently featured in promotional materials for Better Call Saul and its predecessor, Breaking Bad.
The uniforms will also feature a scales of justice sleeve patch and uniform numbers set in the default typeface Brush Script, which is used prominently in Saul Goodman’s billboards and advertisements.
As always, the jerseys will be auctioned off after the game.
