The Florida Panthers have announced they will be officially unveiling their new logo as well as their new uniforms at a fan event on Thursday, June 2nd.
Panthers players Aaron Ekblad, Steven Kampfer, Vincent Trocheck, and Shawn Thornton will be on hand to model the new uniforms, the press release suggests we will see only a home and road set at this event. A roundtable discussion consisting of Panthers owner Vincent Viola and some of the players will follow.
The event will take place at BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL, the home rink of the Florida Panthers since the 1998-99 season. It is free and open to the public, begins at 7pm ET. Merchandise (not jerseys) will be made available at the arena as well as on the Panthers online shop at NHL.com following the event.
The logo had been previously leaked earlier this month via a tweet from Paul Lukas @Uniwatch, we were then able to confirm via several of our sources that the logo was legit. A cleaned up version of that logo appears at the very top of this post.
Our sources tell us the Panthers will wear mostly red at home with a horizontal stripe across the front in the style of the Montreal Canadiens, the home jersey will feature “PANTHERS” arched above the shield like the logo above while the road jersey will read “FLORIDA” in that space. An alternate/shoulder logo consisting of a modified state flag of Florida has also been reported.
The team had already teased a little of the new uniform, the teaser showed us a new custom font for the player name as well as a white number with gold trim.
