Yesterday, we shared with you all the news that the Sacramento Kings’ new uniforms were leaked via the NBA 2K video game. In the same post, Conrad Burry decided to go ahead and share his renders of educated guesses of what the new uniforms would look like. As it turns out, the renders are pretty close to the real deal, and we know that because the Kings have decided to go ahead and just officially release the new uniforms.
Thanks to various leaks, we’ve already had a very good idea of what their primary home/away set and their pride uniforms looked like, and now we’ve got an official look at them, as you can see below.
The big news here is the unveiling of their fourth uniform. The official reasoning behind the fourth uniform (which is being referred to as their “global” uniform) is because it’s part of an effort to make basketball “the premier international sport.” In addition to the sublimated interlocking “S” logos on the uniform, there’s a single gray stripe going down the right-hand side of the uniform, and that’s a nod to the uniforms that they wore from 1994-2002 — the era in which they first embraced their purple-black-and-silver identity.
Additionally, the popular powder-blue throwbacks that they wore last season will be kept on for next season as well. No word yet on whether or not they’ll bring along the alternate court to the new arena, as well.
Now that we’ve finally got a look at all of the Kings’ new uniforms for 2016-17 and beyond, what do you guys think? Does this match what’s been a massive upgrade for them when it comes to their logo set? Do you miss the old uniforms? Let us know how you feel!
