There will be plenty of “ducks on the pond” tonight in Orange County.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will don uniforms paying homage to their city cousins, the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks, in two weeks prior to a game against the Seattle Mariners.
Featuring a co-branded logo showing the Angels “A” mark inside an outline of the Ducks “D” logo, the Angels will wear the red and cream uniforms only during batting practice before their game on August 16th as part of their “Ducks Night” celebration. The Ducks similarly held an “Angels Night” earlier in 2016.
This will be the first time the Angels ever wear a “cream” jersey, although keeping in mind these will not be worn during the actual game.
Jerseys and caps will be auctioned off online, proceeds of these sales will go to the Angels Baseball Foundation and the Anaheim Ducks Foundation which provide funding for various important youth programs.
The Ducks wore Angels uniforms during their pre-game skate on February 5th before a game against the Arizona Coyotes. A photo of that uniform here:
