Do you believe in miracles?!
Well you better, because the Rochester Red Wings and Buffalo Bisons are about to pay tribute to the biggest miracle to hit upstate New York since Kodak colour film.
Tonight those two Triple-A International League clubs, Rochester (affiliate of the Twins) and Buffalo (AAA Blue Jays) will wear uniforms based off of the white and blue jerseys of the Gold Medal winning 1980 USA Men’s Olympic “Miracle on Ice” Hockey team. The Winter Olympics that year were held in Lake Placid, NY, which is about a five hour drive northeast of Rochester.
Let’s take a look at the jerseys for tonight (pic via @RocRedWings):
Buffalo on the left in blue, Rochester will be wearing the whites on the right.
A look at the back reveals no player name and thus, sadly, likely means no blue bar name plate on the white jersey (pic via @BenWag247):
The Red Wings are also decorating the field appropriately for the game:

This is not the first time Rochester has worn special uniforms commemorating that magical hockey game 36 years ago, here’s a look at the jerseys they took to the field in last summer when they hosted the Syracuse Chiefs, umpires even dressed as hockey referees:
