Earlier today, the Memphis Grizzlies announced an event to release their new “MLK50” Pride uniform for the 2016-17 season. The Grizzlies are partnering with the National Civil Rights Museum for the “A Bridge Of Opportunity” event. I previously had learned information describing the uniform as mainly black and having a sleeved cut. I have just recently learned details about the design elements included on the design.
As the below teaser image on the Grizzlies website suggests, the uniform will indeed be mainly black. This image also aligns with information I’ve gathered that the uniform will contain teal-colored details.

I have also learned (via an Adidas catalog*), that the wordmark to be placed on these unis will read “Memphis” and that the design will somehow incorporate a “Grecian pattern” design. Unfortunately, I have not viewed images of the wordmark and pattern involved, but I would like to venture a guess that the “Grecian pattern” could in fact be some kind of homage to the outdoor railing design on the National Civil Rights Museum building, formerly the Lorraine Motel.
With all of that in mind, here is my educated guess at what the new Memphis Grizzlies MLK50 Pride uniform could look like:
