It’s gonna be a gold rush in Nashville this winter.
The Nashville Predators this afternoon announced the team will be adopting their gold helmets with their gold (or yellow, really) home jerseys for each and every game played at Bridgestone Arena in the upcoming 2016-17 NHL season. The Predators previously wore the gold lids during their “Golden Saturday” games last season.
“As we grow the Gold throughout the whole community, it’s even more important to continue what we did on the ice with Golden Saturdays into all of our home games. The most integral part to our brand is Gold, and we’re going to display it as often as we possible can,” Nashville Predators President and CEO Sean Henry said in the press release.
The Nashville Predators will become the first team since the Vancouver Canucks in 1988-89 to wear a gold/yellow helmet regularly throughout an entire season.
