Sacramento Kings Announce Jersey Sponsor

Sacramento Kings Blue Diamond Almond Jersey Advertisement Patch

The Sacramento Kings are the second NBA team to announce a jersey sponsor patch for the 2017-18 season which is the first year in which sponsorship patches will be allowed on in-game uniforms.

Sacramento’s deal is with Blue Diamond Growers, the Sacramento-based world’s leading brand of almonds. Blue Diamond Growers has been based in Northern California for over one hundred years and works with over 3000 local family farms.

Of primary interest to us, the Kings will feature the Blue Diamond Almonds logo on their jerseys. The patch, which is a blue diamond with the company name scripted across it in white with a blue and white ribbon overlaid on the bottom half, will be placed on the upper left corner of the jersey (where the NBA logo once resided) and will measure approximately 2.5 inches wide.

This patch will appear on all the Sacramento Kings uniforms: home, road, alternate, and any special one-game only jerseys.

“For decades, Blue Diamond almonds have been one of Sacramento’s most well-known products around the country,” said Kings President Chris Granger in the press release. “We are proud of this community’s history of high-quality agriculture — it’s why we’ve committed to supporting local producers by using locally sourced food in our arena and why our players are proud to showcase the Blue Diamond brand on the court and around the league.”

While the jersey deal doesn’t get underway until 2017-18, the partnership of Blue Diamond will still be felt throughout Sacramento’s brand new arena, the Golden 1 Center. The Blue Diamond Almond Breeze logo will appear on the court apron below both team benches, their products will also be featured at the in-stadium concession stands.

This deal takes effect today, you’ll see the court apron logo placement at today’s game vs. Israeli league club Maccabi Haifa. This game will also be the first ever to be played at the new arena.

Sixers Jerseys StubHub
The Philadelphia 76ers will wear StubHub patches in 2017-18

Sacramento will join the Philadelphia 76ers as the only teams to confirm they will be wearing an advertisement on their in-game uniform, Philadelphia announced they would be wearing a StubHub logo on their jersey. None of the patches are permitted until the beginning of the 2017-18 NBA season. League policy allows for the sponsor patches to only be included on jerseys sold at the arena and/or official team shops, anything else available to fans will be sans-sponsor.
