Once again, we’ve got news to share about new college football helmets, and this time it’s coming from our friends in Columbia, Missouri. The Tigers wore white helmets for the first time last season, but it was one of those trendy alternate helmets that included an oversized logo silver Tiger logo on a white shell.
If the Tigers are going to go back to the white helmet well, then their next effort appears to be a much simpler and restrained look. Missouri has yet to officially unveil it, but they may be planning to spring a surprise on their fans if this photo is any evidence.
Now, just because a team wears a helmet during practice doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re going to wear it on the field. Even Missouri themselves are an example of this, as they wore their “Icy white” helmets during Fall camp and have yet to break them out for a game this season. However, when you consider that this helmet is very similar to a black helmet that they wore a while back, then it makes sense that they could possibly decide to use a white version of that helmet.
So, I would not be shocked if we see Missouri sporting these white helmets in the near future. We’ll see what happens, but what do you think of the helmet overall? Is it a better version of the black helmets they used to wear?
