Blues, Blackhawks 2017 Winter Classic Jerseys Leak

2017 NHL Winter Classic Uniforms leaked

The throwback-inspired uniforms to be used in St. Louis’ upcoming 2017 Winter Classic game have been leaked, at least one of those two via the official NHL team shop.

We’ll start by taking a look at the Blues jersey, which we are indeed able to confirm as being accurate:

St Louis, hosting the annual outdoor game as part of their 50th season celebrations, will be wearing a slightly fauxbacked version of their original expansion season jerseys from 1967-68 (with a yellow name added, so throw in a dash of 1978 in there as well) . Colours have been lightened, most notably the shade of blue used throughout, and the white stripes look to be “heritage white” rather than, you know, actual white as they originally were… Blues Compare Winter classicOther differences include the size of the logo is now larger, the NHL shield added below the collar, and the striping at the waist has the two white stripes now of equal width. We presume there will also be an addition of patches featuring the 2017 Winter Classic logo and/or the Blues 50th season.

Moving on to Chicago which we are unable to confirm as of yet…

Chicago’s purported leaked jersey is very similar to what they wore for the 2015 Winter Classic in Washington. This jersey has a different version of the Blackhawks crest on the jersey making it seem to be a throwback to their 1956-57 road white design, complete with the crossed tomahawks logo on the striping:

Again a few subtle differences, the colours of the secondary logo on the arm stripes have been completely changed, as have the width and placement of the waist stripes. The NHL logo again is added to the collar here.

The two uniforms are expected to be unveiled any day now, the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic will be played at Busch Stadium on January 2.
