Philadelphia Union get bad and boujee with new secondary kit

Major League Soccer’s annual rollout of new kits continued today, as the Philadelphia Union unveiled their new secondary kit for the 2017 season. The choice of the kit design itself isn’t particularly a huge shock — the Union have worn white uniforms on multiple occasions over the years, and 2017 will be no different as they’ve rolled out a white jersey with blue sleeves and white shorts.

It’s interesting to see that the Union went with a monochrome crest design on this shirt. Personally, I would’ve just gone with the regular crest design, but I figure that they must have been super-committed to the blue-and-white motif of this kit so that explains the monochrome crest. That’s just me speculating, though. Meanwhile, the UNion also put their nickname on the cuff of the right sleeve — similar to what Atlanta United did on their home shirt. We’ll probably see this from plenty of other MLS teams and teams around the world who are under the Adidas umbrella.

Meanwhile, the Union picked a unique and funny way to unveil the kit. They decided to reveal the new kits in a video that was backed by one of civilization’s most important and culturally significant musical compositions: “Bad & Boujee” by Migos. If you agree with that last sentence, then you’ll probably love the video.

So, what do you all think about Philadelphia’s new kit? Is it a good look for the Union? Is it worthy of being associated with such a grand piece of music?
