Five down, twenty-five to go.
According to a report on Bloomberg last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached an agreement with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co to place their logo on the team’s jerseys for next season and likely beyond.
Goodyear has its headquarters in Akron, Ohio – a short drive from Cleveland and is the hometown of Cavs’ superstar LeBron James.
Neither the team nor Goodyear were willing to comment or confirm, says the report.
The Cavaliers would join the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Sacramento Kings as teams to have jersey deals going into the 2017-18 season. At this point it’s safe to start assuming we will see a majority, if not all of the NBA’s teams with ad patches on their jerseys in the fall.
