We’ve got even more MLS kit news for you today, as things are really kicking into high gear when it comes to the annual kit unveilings. Today, we’ll start with the official news–that being Los Angels Galaxy’s unveiling of their new clash kit for this season. Ever since the Galaxy underwent a rebrand upon David Beckham’s historic move to the club in 2007, they’ve always worn white home kits with a navy blue clash kit. Ten years later and things haven’t changed in that regard.
Staying true to their brand, the Galaxy have once again chosen to go with a navy blue kit. In my opinion, the most interesting element of this kit is the fact that the Adidas stripes are another shade of blue. Normally those stripes stick out on any kit, but here they appear to blend in.
I’m a big fan of the Galaxy placing their secondary logo on the socks as well, as you can see on this “Polaroid” photo that the Galaxy had their players pose for as part of the promotional rollout.
It’s hard to mess up a design like this, and the Galaxy have yet to mess it up. They’ve kept things very simple with this kit, and their fans are probably going to enjoy it.
Meanwhile, the Houston Dynamo have a leak on their hands. Thanks to the crew at Todo Sobre Camisetas, we’ve got a look at what’s possibly the new Dynamo home kit for the upcoming season.
With that being said, it appears that the Dynamo are either aware of the leak or are just having fun with their kit unveiling anyways. Yesterday, the team tweeted out (then deleted) an image of this particular kit design.
The reaction to this was predictably visceral, and the Dynamo quickly deleted it. With that being said, if you follow a certain person on Twitter then it’s clear that whoever runs Houston’s Twitter account was just having some fun here.
With that being said, we are living in a world where extremely strange events are happening, so that weird wavy-looking kit could very well be the real deal. I highly doubt it and I think that Todo Sobre Camisetas are right here (as usual), but we’ll see.
Meanwhile, what do you think of what you’ve seen above when it comes to the kits?
UPDATE — Once again, we’ve received an image from an anonymous source that seems to confirm what we’ve seen in a leak. In any case, feast your eyes on what’s probably the new Houston Dynamo home shirt.
