The MLS All-Star Game will be happening in a couple of months in August, which means that it’s time for the league to unveil its kit for the mid-season extravaganza. The league’s collection of stars will be taking the pitch against Real Madrid, and they’ll be doing so while wearing shirts that should bring back memories of the United States soccer team from the 1994 World Cup.
Indeed, Adidas has basically decided to recreate the “denim” US Soccer shirts from the 1994 World Cup, except they also added subtle maple leaves onto the shirt as well to represent the Canadian teams in the league.
It’s not quite denim, but it’s definitely a decent tribute to a shirt that wasn’t exactly the best-looking shirt in US Soccer history, but it does have nice memories attached to it. If there’s anything you want to take away from any type of All-Star Game, it’s memories. If the MLS All-Stars manage to do something exciting in their exhibition against Real Madrid, then they’ll have these faux-backs attached to them with the memories of this game, so take from that what you will.
Anyways, what do you all think of these shirts? Are you feeling the ’90s vibe here?
