NBA Makes Change to League Logo

I really hope Jerry West just read the headline and moved on, never to look back, he’d be happy. But sorry Jerry, this is the dawning of the age of, well, just slightly tweaking your logo.

Following on the heels of big (and I mean BIG) changes in the league already with Detroit, San Antonio, and Dallas, the association itself is giving itself a new look font.

Confirming a discovery made on Twitter by @ColorWerx earlier this week, ESPN’s Darren Rovell today Tweeted out the league would be changing the font style for the “NBA” type used on all it’s official league logos including the primary Jerry West logo as well as a slight change to the colours. New logo was at the top of the post, like the other NBA tweaks this off-season it’s tough to notice on its own.

Rovell also tweeted out the new horizontal wordmark logo:

As SportsLogos.Net’s Conrad Burry pointed out a few days ago, the logo announced for the 2018 NBA All-Star game makes use of the (now) old logo, so it’s likely we’ll also see an adjustment made to that shortly.
