Who said hockey left Atlanta?
The Atlanta Gladiators, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Boston Bruins today kicked off their 15th anniversary season by unveiling a series of commemorative logos in recognition of the milestone season.
Here’s a look at all the anniversary logos unveiled today by the Gladiators, you’ll notice there’s a slightly different version of the logo which will be worn as a uniform patch:
Known originally as the Gwinnett Gladiators (named for Gwinnett County, a suburb of Atlanta), the team began play in 2003. In 2015, four years after the relocation of the NHL’s Thrashers to Winnipeg, the Gladiators re-branded themselves as Atlanta despite not actually moving from Gwinnett County.
