The Arizona Diamondbacks have business to take care of in 2017, but the team’s promotions and marketing folks are already looking ahead to next season. In promoting the release of the team’s 2018 schedule, the Diamondbacks unveiled a logo celebrating the 20th anniversary of their inaugural season.

The Diamondbacks posted an animation of their 2018 schedule on social media outlets that prominently features the mark.
Given the team’s history with branding, the logo shows remarkable restraint, and uses surprisingly few colors. It’s set mostly in the team’s current sedona red, but ties into the franchise’s 1998 origins with the use of purple. There’s no teal to be found anywhere.
The Diamondbacks, winners of five NL West pennants and the 2001 World Series in their 20 seasons to date, have previously used commemorative logos for their inaugural season and their 10th anniversary.
