The ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears, a Creamer Award runner-up in 2012 and an affiliate club of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will show some solidarity with their on-court cousins, the Orlando Magic with a special jersey during the upcoming season.
Released today along with the rest of their promotional schedule, the jerseys are white with black arms and the Magic’s familiar black pinstripes on the chest and back. Much like a basketball jersey the player’s number is on the front as well as the back underneath a scripted “Bears” mark using the same font the Magic went with in the early 1990s, similarly the “A” in “Bears” replaced with a silver star. The shoulders each feature the Magic streaking, magical basketball logo.
The uniforms will be worn for the Solar Bears’ November 4th home game against the Florida Everblades.
In addition to the Magic uniforms the Solar Bears will wear several other themed jerseys throughout the 2017-18 ECHL season including a Marvel themed jersey, an Ugly Sweater uniform, and a Noche Latina design among a few others. See their entire promo schedule here.
