Last season, a handful of teams were unable to wear their Color Rush uniforms. The Atlanta Falcons were one of those teams, as their Thursday Night Football appearance happened to take place in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers. The Bucs wore all-red, which was a quite obvious clash with the all-red set that the Falcons had for their Color Rush.
However, we’ve reached a new season and things have changed. The Falcons will be hosting the New Orleans Saints this Thursday and since the Saints are going to wear their lovely all-white Color Rush uniforms from last season, that paves the way for the Falcons to finally break out their Color Rush uniforms.
The team used social media to confirm that they’ll be wearing all-red this week.
Although the all-red look is a bit much (as is the case with a lot of the other Color Rush uniforms), the jersey by itself isn’t bad at all and I contend that if you matched this with white or black pants, then you could have the basis for a solid uniform update for the Falcons — something that they sorely need since their current uniforms are starting to look like outdated relics of the design fad from the early 2000s.
So, are you ready to see the red vs. white Color Rush game in a couple of days?
