It’s almost here!
Yes, Spring Training is right around the corner folks, pitchers and catchers start reporting in just two weeks, and we’re less than a month from our first spring ball games.
Today Major League Baseball acknowledged that fact by releasing their 2018 line of Spring Training caps, jerseys, and other merchandise for sale on MLBShop.com
The caps are all new, made of a new lightweight fabric – the lightest on-field cap in Major League Baseball history – and features a non-embroidered team logo on the crown. These were all released and discussed back in November, you can check out our post for more details on the construction and more on the new spring caps here. The caps being offered for sale now include the special Spring 2018 patch on the side and retail between (US) $34.99 and $39.99
The patch for both the cap and jersey feature the same design, a state outline of Arizona or Florida with the mail abbreviation all within a home plate shape, the MLB batterman logo and “2018” at the top.
Jerseys also come with the 2018 Spring Training patch on the sleeve and if you choose to have one customized with a player name/number, will use the special Spring pattern for.
Depending on if you want a blank replica or a customized authentic on-field the prices range wildly, the blank replicas go for $115 while the most expensive jersey (a customized Arizona Dbacks on-field) goes for $405.
A line of t-shirts were also released, while templated as always I especially enjoy the design of the Arizona Diamondbacks Cactus League shirt:
