2018 Final Four court goes with Fiesta theme in San Antonio

We’re reaching the latter stages of the men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, which means that March Madness is hitting a fever pitch as you read this. The biggest sign that the Final Four is near is when the court gets laid down for the big event and they’ve done just that in the Alamodome in San Antonio.

If you’re a longtime San Antonio Spurs fan, the color scheme and Fiesta theme of the court design has to bring back memories of the days when the Spurs used to call the Alamodome their home arena.

It’s always nice to see the teal color scheme in relation to San Antonio basketball, so seeing them go with this look for the Final Four is a refreshing change. It’s clear that they were trying to go with a festive look for the court and in this case, it’s safe to say that they nailed it.

It also continues the Final Four’s solid track record of giving their courts and logos a local flavor. It’s a stark contrast to the cookie-cutter template look that we get with the College Football Playoff and their field designs for its championship game.

So personally, I’m pleased with how this court design turned out, though I would’ve preferred to see a bit more color in the key area on the court. Other than that, this is a solid court design that’s vibrant and eye-catching.
