The Women’s National Basketball Association has unveiled their uniforms for the upcoming 2018 WNBA All-Star Game which will be held in Minneapolis next Saturday.
Borrowing a format used earlier this year by the NBA, teams will be named for captains rather than conferences with the inaugural matchup using this method being between Team Delle Donne, for Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne, and Team Parker for Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks.
The uniforms were designed by Nike, and again just like the 2018 NBA All-Star Game uniforms, contain no colour whatsoever:
Across the front of the uniform is the WNBA wordmark with “ALL-STAR” and an advertiser’s logo below; two diagonal stripes shoot up from the bottom hip toward the chest on either side. The logo of the WNBA team the player plays for is in the top left with colour removed, Nike’s logo on the opposite side.
On the back we have a single colour name and number, player name goes below the number and the WNBA’s secondary All-Star logo – the silhouette from their league logo inside the star.
The 2018 WNBA All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, July 28th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This will be the fifteenth annual All-Star Game played by the league.
