Vegas, Army Settle Golden Knights Trademark Battle

The Vegas Golden Knights today announced that they and the Army and have come to an agreement that will allow for both sides to continue using the Golden Knights kname.

“We are pleased that we have agreed to coexist regarding the use of the ‘Golden Knights’ mark and name,” Vegas Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley said in the press release. “Our discussions with the Army were collaborative and productive throughout this entire process. We are appreciative of their efforts and commitment to reaching an amicable resolution.”

The announcement follows nearly two years of trademark trouble between the two sides, beginning with the United States Patent and Trademark Office flagging it as a potential issue and then with the Army itself challenging it.

Terms of the agreement were not released, we’re not sure if any dollar amounts changed hands, all we know is that neither the Army parachute team nor the Vegas NHL hockey team will be changing their names or logos because of this, and to be honest that’s all we care about here.
