The Arena Football League is still chugging along, with just four teams remaining the league is all set to hold the 31st edition of their championship game, the Arena Bowl this Saturday in Baltimore.
Unlike that other pro football league’s bowl game, the AFL still puts out a unique logo for the event every year, the only common element over the past eight games (aside from the name) is the colour scheme of red and navy blue, these are the same colours used in the league’s logo.
This year’s logo is again navy blue and red and takes the shape of a football, XXXI is written across the ball in white with ARENA BOWL above in red, the AFL logo below. The logo must remain somewhat neutral and generic due to the fact the league has an interesting way of determining who will host the game; of the two finalist teams, the club with the higher average attendance on the season gets to host. A literal 12th man? How’s that for incenting your home fans to show up throughout the year?
The 2018 edition of the Arena Bowl will kickoff (indoors, of course) on Saturday, July 28th between the Baltimore Brigade and the Washington Valor, two teams which share the same owner.
