The Columbus Blue Jackets will bring back the cannons when they lace them up this season.
According to a 2018-19 Blue Jackets corporate branding guide, Ohio’s only active NHL team will be wearing their previous third uniform (worn initially from 2010 through 2017) as their third uniform once again. The navy blue uniform with tan, light blue, and silver accents features a cannon within a circle on the chest.
Here’s a look at the page of the branding guide which shows the club’s three uniform options for the coming season:
So things are pretty much back to the way they were in the Reebok days then? The only difference we see above is the updated Adidas collar (of course) and the modified name and number font on the home and away uniforms, but we already knew about that one going into the 2017-18 season.
As far as we know, the Blue Jackets haven’t officially announced that their previous alternate uniform would be returning, but this lines up with what we’d been hearing from our sources over the past few months. Feels safe to confirm this one.
This will make the fifth alternate uniform for 2018-19 we’ve seen thus far, check out our 2018-19 NHL Logo and Uniform Tracker to see the rest.
