The 90s are so in right now.
This morning the Minnesota Timberwolves became the latest team to jump on the decade by unveiling their “classics edition” throwback uniform, which the team will wear five times at home in the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Based off of the alternate uniform the club wore from 1996-2008, the uniform is black with green pine tree trim around the cuffs and collars. Across the chest is that “Timberwolves” wordmark in white and blue, shorts feature the timberwolf head logo on one leg, and the “MT” logo on the other.
The team chose to bring back an old uniform for the season in honour of this being their 30th season, the club joined the NBA as an expansion team along with the Orlando Magic for the 1989-90 season. Orlando is also wearing an old-school uniform to mark their 30th year.
Minnesota will wear their new “classic edition” uniform for the following games:
October 31st vs Utah Jazz
December 3rd vs Houston Rockets
January 4th vs Orlando Magic
March 5th vs Oklahoma City Thunder
April 9th vs Toronto Raptors
The Timberwolves also took this opportunity to unveil their 30th season logo, which is basically their current logo with “30 seasons of basketball” added to the roundel. Very disappointing.
