The Carolina Hurricanes today announced their entire uniform schedule for the 2018-19 NHL season, something I really wish more teams would do. Thank you, Hurricanes.
You may be thinking, “okay but we already knew their third jersey schedule, so what’s the big deal?”, and normally you’d be correct but, A-ha! The Hurricanes have a few tricks up their sleeves this season.
Carolina will be having some “uni-fun” on the road this year, wearing their home red uniforms away from North Carolina four times (Dec. 13 in Montreal, Jan. 3 in Philadelphia, Feb. 21 in Florida and Feb. 23 in Dallas), their black alternates once (Oct. 22 in Detroit), and of course, the green Whalers uniform for that retro rivalry game at Boston on March 5th; the home teams will wear their usual road white uniforms in each of those games.
I put together this handy schedule graphic by editing their usual home/road schedule to account for jersey colour.
