Da Bears are turning Da Big One Hundred next season, the only team who will be celebrating their centennial concurrently with the National Football League.
Playing up that shared milestone, apparently, is the Chicago Bears and their 100th anniversary logo released this morning, nearly identical to the NFL’s own 100th anniversary logo revealed last month.
The logo features a diagonal slash through a 100 and the Bears alternate logo in the bottom left, the NFL version uses the same design but in the league’s colours of red, white, and blue and, of course, the NFL shield in place of the Bears logo.
At a event announcing the centennial season plans, Bears chairman George H. McCaskey said the Bears are going to wear a special “classic uniform”, the design to be unveiled sometime in 2019.
