The Miami Dolphins heard you.
Following the rousing popularity of the Dolphins wearing their throwback uniforms for back-to-back games earlier this month, the team has requested and received permission from the National Football League to wear them for this weekend’s game against Jacksonville.
As you can see in the Tweet from Dolphins president and CEO Tom Garfinkel below, the Dolphins will also bring out a throwback end zone design. This time the end zone will include the old team logos rather than the diamond (“Argyle”, perhaps) patterned design they used in the earlier two throwback games.
Miami originally wore this uniform set in 1973, the year they won Super Bowl VII. The Dolphins are undefeated in 2018 wearing the throwback uniform including the “Miami Miracle” victory over the New England Patriots on December 9th.
With this being the final home game of the season for Miami, this now means the team will have worn their throwback look for their final three home games, the last time they the current set was worn at Hard Rock Stadium was November 4th.
